Wayne Mercy Medical Clinic's Scope of Service:
Wayne Mercy Medical Clinic of Wayne, Nebraska is a part of Mercy Medical Services Network and Mercy Medical Center-Sioux City.
It is the policy of the medical and administrative staff that the best and most appropriate services to be provided to all patients.
It is the policy of the Wayne Mercy Medical Clinic to provide the following direct services at the clinic site, utilizing the services of both the physicians and midlevels.

Direct Services
General:
Medical History- each patient is asked for a health history in order for our providers to provide the best possible care.
System Review – each patient is asked to complete a system review annually at the time of their physical.
Physical Examinations-many different types of exams are performed here. Wellness, DOT, pre-employment school, sports, pregnancy as well as general exams are performed.
Health status assessments – examine each patient for specific complaints and treat accordingly.
Minor procedures – these include lesion removal, treatment of warts, aspiration of body fluids, nail removal, eye exams for foreign body removal, ear washes, cautery of nose bleeds, joint injections, and anoscopy
Minor emergencies – laceration repair, acute injuries, general wound care & fracture care.
Surgical procedures – Sigmoidoscopy, vasectomy, endometrial biopsy
Other - general radiography, EKG’s.
Laboratory: The clinic provides quality laboratory services appropriate to the medical needs of the patient, using the lab at our clinic, and the more sophisticated facilities of the Quest Lab of St. Louis, Missouri and the Siouxland Cytology Consultants of Sioux City, Iowa. The clinic lab is registered with CLIA and COLA as a moderately complex lab. Our personnel are appropriately trained to perform laboratory services. Radiology: Wayne Mercy Medical Clinic’s radiology services are under the supervision of our physicians. Our Limited Scope technicians perform routine diagnostic procedures at a general skill level. All technicians follow the guidelines required for licensure through the State of Nebraska. Three staff members are trained in Bone Densitometry, which is done on the Norland Dexa scanner. Our employees demonstrate knowledge of the principles of assessing and interpreting patient age specific data and provide appropriate, age specific treatment. The staff provides outstanding service to all customers, fosters teamwork and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation. Referral to the Providence Medical Center Radiology department with specialized Radiologists providing expert interpretation of all radiological exams is an added benefit to our patient’s health care.
Clinic hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday. After hours the phone will be answered by an automated answering machine. The message will instruct patients to contact Providence Medical Center for an emergency after hours. The operator will page the physician on-call for Wayne Mercy Medical Clinic. We have a Physician on call 24 hours a day. The physician will return the call as soon as possible.
